Ethan Brooks has been impressive in Bafana colours and has lately been eager to cement his place in the national team. The TS Galaxy midfield dynamo has set his sights on making sure he keeps his place in the Bafana team after showcasing his skills in the senior national team to their 5th Cosafa Cup win.
Brooks played very well in the Cosafa Cup for Bafana. He made his debut for the senior national team last month against Uganda in an international friendly match.
"Having tasted what it is like to play in the national team (South Africa) it is something that I would like to do on a regular basis with the World Cup qualifiers being around the corner. I would love to be part of that team but I have to put in the hard work on the field. I would love to be part of the squad. But as I said, I have to work hard to make sure that I get to that team, it's my dream."
South Africa is set to take on Zimbabwe and Ghana in their opening games of the world cup qualifiers in September. At the age of just 19 years, Brooks is already taking South African football by storm and his future certainly looks bright.
"It feels so amazing to be a champion in my own country, having contributed to the victory. I still cannot believe that I won my first senior trophy with the senior national team. I still can't believe that I'm a champion, it is amazing."
"I have learned a lot of lessons by participating in the Cosafa Cup tournament, especially competing against different nations with different styles of football. I believe that the lessons that I have learned from the Cosafa Cup will help me to grow as a football player and as a human being in terms of mentality, discipline, physical and emotional." - Ethan Brooks.
