It was 3rd place vs 2nd place when Bayer Leverkusen hosted high-flying Bayern Munich in a top-of-the-table battle. The match started in a frantic pace and it only took Polish striker Robert Lewandowski three minutes to find himself on the scoresheet. Bayern had the majority of the possession as it was telling when in the 30th minute of the game Lewandowski double his tally and Bayern lead 2-0. Three goals in the space of three minutes saw Bayern going into the break leading 5-0. Goals by Serge Gnabry and Thomas Muller seem to have put the contest beyond reach for Leverkusen. Leverkusen got a lifeline at the start of the second half after forward Patrik Schick neatly tucked away his effort. But that's all they could muster as the game ended 5-1 to see Bayern top the Bundesliga.
