Pirates coach reveals that the Buccaneers are not a big club, here is why

Orlando Pirates have been dropping points in the DStv Premiership and that’s not part of their mandate at all. Their current performance cannot help them win the league title. The Buccaneers’ co-coach Mandla Ncikazi felt that his charges haven’t lived up to the name of the club. As it’s known as one of the biggest clubs in Africa and has been able to win trophies in the past. However, the inconsistency has been a horrible tendency at Mayfair

Teams just never know what to expect when they’re playing against Pirates, sometimes it can be a win, then in certain times, it can be a draw and even a loss. These are testing times for all the Pirates fans to see if they will be able to trust and believe in their current technical team to provide the needed resolutions to solve issues within the club. Positive results are a necessity at Mayfair, otherwise, they will have another mediocre campaign. On Saturday, Pirates had to travel to the Mother City to battle it out with Cape Town City at the Cape Town Stadium. However, the match ended in a 1-1 draw, Ncikazi wasn’t pleased with how everything went within the PSL clash. As there was hope that they will move much closer after to title reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns. “I am highly disappointed by the results… We failed to adapt to their structure and changed our own. I don’t think this is how we planned to play the second half,” said Ncikazi talking to the media.

Furthermore, Ncikazi stated that the Buccaneers are nowhere near where they’re supposed to be in this lifetime. This has put the club’s history in jeopardy, as they have been misfiring during matches. Hence Ncikazi feels that the current Sea Robber hasn’t lived up to the high expectations and they have a long way to be regarded as a massive team within the PSL. “Pirates are not at the level where everyone expects them to be. Currently, we’re not reflecting in our performances the name that we have. People should be proud of Pirates but honestly, I don’t think we are at that level,” said Ncikazi talking to the media.
