South Africa football is very unpredictable more especially when it comes to knockout competitions. This is where the club that showed up on the day gets to proceed to the next round. This club has become very good when it comes to this particular competition as they are currently the defending champions. Many will put their money on Mamelodi Sundowns to win as they are currently the favorites considering the teams which are still in the competition.
They won the Nedbank Cup last season under Dylan Kerr, however a lot has happened since. Many will know that Marumo Gallants was formerly known as TTM when lifted this trophy. It looks like they will have a good chance of winning it again and make history in the PSL. There has also been changes to the technical teams since then.
Marumo Gallants marched on the final of the Nedbank Cup after beating TTM 1-0 through an own goal on Friday evening. They will have to wait to find out their opponents as Mamelodi Sundowns and Royal AM are set to play on Saturday, the 30th of April. This will be a blockbuster as the team that win will have a chance of going for glory.
Dan Dance Malesela will play his 2nd Nedbank Cup final as he already has 1 winners medal. Many will remember when he defeated Kaizer Chiefs in the final while he was still the coach of TS Galaxy in the Glad Africa Championship. He definitely knows how to win against big teams as Marumo Gallants has already knocked out Orlando Pirates from the competition.
They will be hoping that Royal AM can beat Mamelodi Sundowns, however this seems unlikely. Dan Malesela has what it takes to a pull a shock result and it would be interesting to see him at work. His side was beaten 4-0 the last time they faced off against the Brazilians. They also 2-0 during their last MEETING with Royal AM in the DStv Premiership back in January.
