Taariq Fielies' contract with Cape Town City has been extended for an additional four years, the club has revealed.
The central defender has agreed to a new deal with the Citizens that will keep him with the club until 2025.
This is the fourth season for the former Ajax Cape Town and Milano United defender, who had been linked with a move to Gauteng before joining the club.
In spite of this, the 29-year-old has made it clear that he intends to stay in his hometown and work harder in order to achieve greater success with the club.
"Ja, I'm just thrilled to have signed a new deal with the club, and I'm overjoyed about it," Fielies said in a statement released by the club's public relations department.
"And yes, I'm here to lend a hand to the squad. Obviously, we made it to another final, and for that, I'm grateful as well. So, yes, we can just build on top of this foundation.
"It's true that we can accomplish more this season."
