Free strikers for Chiefs? Ivorian and two Europeans
Coach Arthur Zwane of the Kaizer Chiefs has frequently expressed to supporters his desire for a number nine.
After Ashley Du Preez suffered an injury last week this is even more important. This window has been dominated by few stories as much as Kaizer Chiefs' search for a striker. Here are several free agents from Europe for evaluation.
AT KAIZER CHIEFS, NO PROPER NINE
We are all aware that Samir Nurkovic and Leonardo Castro were released by Amakhosi prior to the start of this term.
Since then The Glamour Boys have been left with what can only be described as forwards Du Preez, Khama Billiat and the rising star Mduduzi Shabalala all enter the penalty area to score goals but it is not in their nature to remain there and engage in physical combat for the ball
KAIZER CHIEFS CAN CONSIDER FREE AGENTS FROM EUROPE
Are there no answers in Mzansi and throughout the continent then? Sort of. Early in August, Coach Zwane told the media that they had searched everywhere and were still looking.
TRIBULATIONS AND STRIKER TRIALS AT NATURENA
After preseason began, none of us really anticipated what would happen, Coach Zwane and his assistant Dillon Sheppard extended invitations to no fewer than four different number nines but they all turned them down.
Wayde Lekay, Fuad Johnson Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Darren Smith were on the list.
Three center forwards who played in Europe last season before becoming free agents have since been located through our search.
Although the solutions listed below may not exactly match what Zwane wants They are worth examining. If Zwane reads this and makes the appropriate calls, who knows?
The PSL attracts players from all around the world with to its resources and infrastructure.
