Premier League

One of the Most Painful, Spectacular and Dramatic Comeback Ever in a Game of Football (Opinion)

Football is known to be one of the most entertaining sport in the world, but at times can get emotional and dramatic though exciting. It is more exciting and emotional when the league is to be decided on the last day of the season.

The English Premier League has been very exciting in the 2021/2022 season, with Liverpool and Manchester City fighting for the first spot. Sometime in the beginning of the season Manchester City were looking like they have gone with the title, but slipped to let it be decided on the final day of the season with Liverpool chasing.

Both Liverpool and Manchester City desperately needed a win and for Liverpool it was a calculation moment to say should Manchester City loose their game and we win, we then become the champions. For Man City, it was very emotional as they started the game trailing by 1 goal to nil in the first half.

The blues fans were put to desperate mood by Aston Villa s goal in the 37 minutes of first half, a goal scored by Matty Cash from Lucas Digne 's cross. You could see from the home side fans that it was an emotional game of play and desperation went deeper after Villa silled a second goal by Phillipe Coutinho.

One moment when the Blues were two goal down, we thought they were losing it because Liverpool were leading two goal to one. But what a dramatic and spectacular Comeback by Manchester City, when Llky Gundogan headed a ball from Raheem Sterling 's cross in the 76 minutes.

The substitute Gundogan then doubled the score in the 81st minutes, setting the emotions to the next level, his goal was considered a title winning goal that brought in that moment of madness in the stadium and to the fans who were then seen invading the pitch out of joy.

What an exciting game of football it was, as we salute Manchester City for winning the premier league, credit must also be given to the Liverpool team who fought till the end and I must say they gave their all.
