In most instances it is often the case that most successful footballers hail from humble beginnings. Well that is not the case for former Kaizer Chiefs attacking winger Josta Dladla. The one time top South African footballer enjoyed a comfortable upbringing as he has a successful father who is an engineer.
Many footballers even have the opportunity of boarding their first flight once they turn professional. On the case of Josta Dladla he had the opportunity to board his first flight in 1995 while he was still Grade 8 where he went to visit his father, Johnny Dladla, in England during the December school holidays.
During his visit to England his father worked as a engineer. After years of enjoying a successful career abroad Johnny Dladla would also have the priviledge of heading South Africa's power utility company, Eskom, after his appointment was made public in June 2017. Johnny Dladla served as the acting Group Chief Executive Officer of Eskom until October 2018 before tendering in his resignation letter.
As of now Johnny Dladla still holds a key position in one of South Africa's JSE-listed companies. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CONCO Group. From our investigations made we were able to establish that the group has three companies namely CONCO South Africa, CONCO International and CONCO energy solutions.
Being one of the leading companies in the energy and infrastructure industry, the group has clients all across the African continent and as well as in the Middle East. In the case of Josta Dladla he did not let his comfortable upbringing stand in the way of his dreams. He went to enjoy an illustrious career lasting way over sixteen years. During his glory days Josta Dladla went to feature for Wits University, Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and AGF in Denmark before deciding to announce his retirement from football.
