The rebuilding of Lucky Lekgwathi's Grootman restaurant after it was one of the businesses affected during the looting of businesses that happened in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng Provinces last July.
For some time last year, the former Orlando Pirates Football captain was asking for help to rebuild the restaurant as he was said to have not insured the place.
After some time with the help of former Kaizer Chiefs Football Club middlefielder Willard Katsande's company Katsande Partner's, he was able to rebuild his business and relocate it to Southdale, Johannesburg from Kliptown, Soweto.
After months of struggling former South African senior male international was able to re-open his restaurant, during the re-opening of his restaurant they were legends of the game like Doctor Khumalo and Reneilwe Letsolonyane.
Ever since the reopening of the restaurant we have seen many legends in and out of the world of football show support to Lekgwathi, and they even left their footprint on what is called the wall of legends inside the restaurant.
His former teammate at Pirates, Kermit Romeo Erasmus who currently plies his trades for Pirates arch-rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club visited the restaurant a few days ago alongside his new teammate at Sundowns, Bradley Surprise Ralani.
During his visit, the 31-year-old came bearing a gift. He gifted Lekgwathi his signed Sundowns jersey number 11 shirt, and his signature wrote "Always appreciate you, Ta Slaga".
His signed shirt has since hit the wall of legends at the rapidly growing restaurant that is gaining attraction and affection with each passing day, and as for Erasmus's shirt, it belongs with the legendary jerseys on the wall.
For me, it shows that in the world of football they don't build friendships only, but brotherhoods that last beyond their playing days.
