Ex-Chiefs' Player Left In Charge If PSL Club Does not Find A Head Coach

Ex-Chiefs' Player Left In Charge If PSL Club Does Not Find A Head Coach

Date: Tuesday, 30 November

Former Kaizer Chiefs player Fani Madida will be briefly in charge of Moroka Swallows if the club does not seem to find a head coach in due time before the Dube Birds face Maritzburg United on the weekend. As the former Kaizer Chiefs star gets a brief chance to sit in the manager seat on the bench, it was his former club who gave Swallows the last blow in the PSL before the club decided to part ways with coach Brandon Truter and his entire Technical team.

In recent reports before the defeat to Kaizer Chiefs, the chairman of Swallows, David Mogashoa claimed that he fully backed Brandon Truter, and that he won't sack him because the club is having a bad time, but he'd rather assess the players to see what they are doing wrong, but it didn't go as he said as he made a instant decision to let go of Truter and his technical team while all the players at the club are safe.

Moroka Swallows are currently without a head coach and they will be facing Maritzburg United next in the Dstv Premiership. According to Mogashoa the club are looking for a new head coach, and there has been rumours of Gavin Hunt the next coach, but that can't be confirmed as it is still just rumoured at this stage. David Mogashoa said if the club does not find a coach in time for their next event, Fani Madida will sit in the coaches seat, but wil will not necessarily stand in as coach but will have to answer questions when the club is interviewed after the match.

"But should that not happen or we face work permit issue of the coach is from outside the country, Fani Madida will sit on the bench", said Mogashoa.

"He has been there in the structures and we have asked him to assist with the fitness of the players while we await the confirmation of our new coach. But he is not the coach... the PSL manuel insists that we need to have someone to do the interviews after the game and should we not have a coach ready by Saturday, then Fani will conduct the interviews".

This will be a learning curve experience for Fani Madida, as he will show another side to the PSL other than being a talented football player.
