Ex-Chiefs star takes a stroll down memory lane to this era at the club

In modern football the so called big clubs in the PSL have provided a yearly reminder that projects can fail flat.

These so called big clubs tend to build a huge hype around a high profile transfer only to tumble down the log standings.

In the history of the PSL Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs have always been largely known as cup specialists. The Naturena based outfit had the ability of winning atleast one major silverware each and every season. However, since the 2014/15 season Amakhosi have went through a trophy drought which has extended to seven seasons.

On Thursday retired Warriors defender Thomas Sweswe who had a successful spell at Kaizer Chiefs between 2009 to 2012 has since decided to take his Instagram account to take a stroll down memory to his era at the club. During his three year spell at the club the Phefeni Glamour Boys had privilege of winning back to back Telkom Knockout Cup titles in the year 2009 and in 2010.

Taking to the popular platform the 40 year old Gweru born retired footballer would go to share a picture where he was captured alongside his countrymen Knowledge Musona and Jimmy Jambo where they celebrated a cup triumph. On the day Thomas Sweswe would then go to caption the shared picture with, "a throwback to better times and even to better memories".

From the shared picture on Thomas Sweswe's Instagram account the trio all joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2009. Those who had the privilege of following Thomas Sweswe's football career will probably know that he is believed to linked to one of the worse records in the history of the PSL that can never be broken.

According to unconfirmed reports during his spell at the club the former Kazier Chiefs defender in one of his club's matches played the whole 90 minutes without touching the ball.
