Shauwn Mkhize and Royal AM reportedly fined R1.65m by the PSL

Business tycoon, Shauwn Mkhize has brought fun, class, and controversy through her club, Royal Andile Mpisane Football Club. Ever since she bought the status of Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club, her club has been involved in one controversy after the other.

During her club last-minute win against their neighbours Maritzburg United Football Club in late September this year, alongside her son and Royal AM management took to the field of play to reward her players for winning the match, and that was seen as being inappropriate and unprofessional by the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee(PSL DC).

On Wednesday afternoon PSL handed out a fine of R1.65 million for their actions, and R1.325 million from that amount suspended. Here are some of their charges:

• Paying players on the pitch

R500 000 with R250 000 suspended.

• Inadequate match security

R100 000 with R75 000 suspended.

• Covid-19 officer failed to perform duties.

R10 000.

• Having ten-match balls as opposed to 11.

R5 000.
