If word on the streets is anything to go by, then Orlando Pirates luckily pulled the trigger on parting ways with one of their best players, this after the player had pit the club under scrutiny.
A number of days ago, Pirates Star Gabadinho Mhango made headlines all over the country after it was alleged that he had failed to settle a R26 000 bill at Propaganda club in Pretoria. As if that was not enough, it was also alleged that he was partying the night with some well known female accomplices.
According to a source who is within the Buccaneers, the Chairman Irvin Khoza was very angry at the player for that, simply because it surely brings a club's name into dispute . It is believed that the main reason is that Khoza feels the team is not performing and players should not be partying publicly.
"Mhango is lucky that he was not fired because the boss was very angry at him for partying when the team is not getting the results. Khoza feels that when players party when the team is not doing well, it sends the wrong message to the fans," explained the source.
The Malawian Striker has not been featuring for the Buccaneers lately and it is still unclear as to whether he is still injured at the moment or not. He will surely be itching to get back to doing what he's got a reputation for, which is scoring goals.
