Was Mothobi Mvala's red card against Black Leopard the correct call from the referee?

Mamelodi Sundowns faced off against Black Leopards in a DSTV Premier Soccer League encounter at the Thoyandou Stadium in Venda on Wednesday. The game ended 2 goals to 1 in favour of Mamelodi Sundowns after late strike by Peter Shalulile to seal the three points for Mamelodi Sundowns. The game was full of action as Ovidy Karuru was able to find the back of the net on the 46th minute of the encounter after he was set up by former Kaizer Chiefs left-back Sibusiso Khumalo.

Mamelodi Sundowns struck back through Peter Shalulile's bicycle kick inside the Black Leopards box on the 64th minute of the match. Shortly after Shalulile's strike, Mothobi Mvala was shown a straight red after he pulled back his former teammate at Highlands Park Rodney Ramagalela. Rama G was put through on goal before he was pulled back by Mvala who then received his marching orders.

From the it looks Mothobi Mvala was supposed to receive a yellow card for the pull, but according to the clear goal scoring chance rule, Mothobi Mvala's red card was the call from the referee.

Do you think that Mothobi Mvala's red card was the right call from the referee?
