Kasi football is the foundation of South African football as many of the stars come from there. We've seen a lot of players come from humble beginnings to the highest level, however we've seen others fail to perform under pressure and default. These are two types of games and what works in the other isn't guaranteed in the long run. There's players who couldn't cope with playing in the PSL and others are considering too skilful to be even given an opportunity.
Rulani Mokwena started his coaching career off in the dusty streets of Soweto and was fortunate to have come across a lot of talent. He is responsible for handing several players an opportunity to play in the PSL and no matter how much success he achieves he still remains in touch with his roots. He always finds time in his busy schedule to get back and touch base with the people he used to work with and against.
Rulani Mokwena took to social media to share a clip of himself as he linked up with one of the most popular Kasi flava footballer. He is well known in Soweto and the townships all around South Africa. The man known as Shakes hails from White City in Soweto and gained popularity playing for KFC (Khenza Football Club). Karabo Mkhabela is an urban legend, however he hasn't been fortunate in terms of moving on up to the big leagues.
Shakes was one on the books of Kaizer Chiefs reserve side and also had a stint at Jomo Cosmos. He looks to be content with his current situation and continues to entertain crowds with his mesmerizing skills. This a talent that couldn't went on to become things and it wouldn't be a stretch to say that the football system failed him.
Rulani Mokwena was left in awe with the love the star revives from his people back in Soweto. This is definitely fulfilling and football is not all about money although many would love to have it. He has achieved something that is special and reminiscent of the star of the past like Doctor Khumalo, Jomo Sono and many others as he is easily recognizable and usually has scores of people screaming his name wherever he goes.
