Maluleka And These 4 Others Players Are Struggling To Get Some Action At Sundowns

Breaking into the star-studded Mamelodi Sundowns starting Xi is no easy task, as these five players discovered this season after generally battling for game-time at the Chloorkop-based club. Downs' demanding continental and domestic schedule has been difficult for co-coaches Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mngqithi, as well as senior coach Steve Komphela.

Because of their depth, the Brazilians can frequently afford to field a completely different team for each competition, with the same output on the field nearly assured. Despite the club's frequent rotations, a lot of players are still failing to get into the starting lineup. George Maluleka is one such player. The 32-year-old, who joined the club from Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the 2019/20 season, hasn't made the expected effect for the Tshwane giants.

Maluleka was a regular at Chiefs and was anticipated to command a position at Sundowns, but stiff competition in the center of the park from the likes of Rivaldo Coetzee, Themba Zwane, and Andile has meant that 'Mido' has only managed a three-minute cameo all season. He has appeared in five games for the defending DStv Premiership winners but has primarily been an unused replacement. Maluleka isn't the only Sundowns player who hasn't seen much action this season. Please like and comment
