BREAKING: CAF Endorses Controversial Super League

Breaking News: The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has endorsed the contentious Super League.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has taken a significant step toward transforming the structure of football on the continent by supporting a contentious proposal to establish an African Super League.

At its general session in Cairo on Friday, the football governing body endorsed a decision that might have far-reaching implications for league association football in the future.

During a vote, the CAF's 54 member countries approved the organization's executive committee's request for permission to press on with plans to establish a pan-African league tournament.

"This topic is still before the executive committee, since today's meeting was an affirmation of the widely held belief that this is a significant competition that would promote African football.

A total of seven players scored two goals: Siphiwe Tshabalala (2), Steven Pienaar (2), Mbulelo Mabizela (2), Kagisho Dikgacoi (2); Dean Furman, Andile Jali (2), Tokelo Rantie (2), and Teboho Mokoenzo.

"In addition to increasing the quality, the competition will produce revenue for all of the clubs and countries who participate.

"However, there are those who are not taking part as well.

"We will make an announcement in due course as to what additional information we intend to share about the Super League," the statement continued.

"However, it is something that is interesting and has tremendous promise, and it will be submitted as soon as possible."

"We made the decision today that exco must continue the excellent work that it is doing."

While this is going on, Motsepe has also promised to enhance the caliber of officiating on the content after a number of high-profile dubious rulings.

This includes the contentious Bafana Bafana defeat to Ghana, which is currently under investigation by FIFA, as well as the suspension of four top-flight officials in Ghana, among other things.
