Orlando Pirates is a big football club in South Africa with a lot of good players, therefore they will always go for the best players they think will be a good fit for the team. Many players have been associated with the club, but they do not always succeed in signing all of their stated targets.
Pirates were interested in signing former Chippa United defender Isaac Nhlapo, but they were unable to do so. Before the start of the 2021/22 season, Nhlapo left Chippa United to join Marumo Gallants in the DStv Premiership.
The 31-year-old defender signed a one-year contract with Gallants, putting him in a tricky situation because his current contract expires in June.
Nhlapo appeared in 11 league matches for Marumo Gallants this season, as well as one Nedbank Cup encounter as the club advanced to the finals, where they will face Mamelodi Sundowns. Gallants are defending their Nedbank Cup championship and will give it their all to keep it.
According to his agent Mandla Mthembu, Isaac Nhlapo could play in the Nedbank Cup final and should be ready to sit down with the club to await his fate if he will sign a new deal with the club.
"Yes, Nhlapho has agreed to a short-term contract with Marumo Gallants that will finish at the end of the season. He was performing well prior to his injury and is now back in contention.
