Lamontville Golden Arrows tightened their grip on 3rd position on the log table after thrashing TS Galaxy 3 - 0 in a DStv Premiership clash on Wednesday afternoon at the Cedric Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Clermont.
Arrows came into the game at the back of a Derby loss to Maritzburg United last week which put their CAF dreams in a risk having played a game more than their closest challengers and were looking to bounce back from the loss in the hands of their provincial rivals.
Mandla Ngcikazi's men were in the front foot at the beginning of the game when they broke the deadlock in the seventh minute of the game through Michael Gumede.
The home side were in the mood and got their second of the game, Pule Mmodi with a brilliant shot leaving TS Galaxy goalkeeper with no chance.
Arrows took a comfortable 2 - 0 lead to half time.
In the second half, it was more of the same as Arrows continued to pile more pressure on the visitors as they were looking for a third to kill the game as a contest.
The goal eventually came in the 61st minute as Ntsako Makhubela headed in to put the final nail on TS Galaxy's coffin.
The win means Arrows remain 3rd, in the CAF Confederation Cup spot with 46 points while The Rockets were dealt a blow in their top 8 ambitions.
