Venue: Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
CAF Confederation Cup
Result: Simba 1-0 Orlando Pirates
Tshegofatso Mabasa was replaced by Kwame Peprah in the Pirates' starting lineup, and Innocent Maela was brought in to replace the injured Paseka Mako. Simba dominated the first ten minutes and it was pretty much one-way traffic, with Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori needing to make a handful of stops.

In the ninth minute, the Bucanneers came close to taking the lead. Ntsikelelo Nyauza fired a long ball over the top to meet Peprah's excellent run, and he raced clear on goal but shot wide. In the 18th minute, Pirates were granted a free kick a few yards from the Simba penalty area. Deon Hotto curled it in and caused a fumble from the keeper, who was able to retrieve the ball on the second attempt.
Peprah was leading the line brilliantly and proving his inclusion having missing out the last time out. He tried to catch the keeper off surprise with a curler in the 27th minute, but it went just wide. As the teams headed into halftime scoreless, the Nigerian forward had two more shots, the first of which was straight at the keeper and the second of which went wide.
