Polokwane braces itself for a Glad Africa Limpopo derby

The Glad Africa Championship will make its grand entrance on Saturday afternoon with some enticing match ups in the line up.

The pick of the bunch is most certainly the Limpopo derby that will be contested by Black Leopards and Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane at 15 : 00.

Bizarrely, that will be a home game for Leopards, who according to Rayon Media Sports, have now dumped their slaughter house, Thohoyandou Stadium due to the high maintenance of the venue.

The Thulamela Municipality is said to be charging R30 000 per match at the Thohoyandou based stadium, a fee that is deemed too high, not only by Lidoda Duvha but by rookies, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and Venda Football Academy considering the financial problems caused by Covid 19.

Lidoda Duvha have therefore forfeited a home ground advantage but playing into a lions den, choosing a venue that is commonly used by City as a home ground for this Saturdays clash.

Both sides will be looking for a swift return to the top flight after getting related from the DStv Premiership and a win for one of the sides, will definitely set the tone for the rest of the clubs to catch up.

Polokwane City have also made intentions of getting back to the elite league swiftly after making their intentions clear by having a great pre - season.

The game at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane will kick off at 15 : 00.
