Dylan Kerr To Coach Swallows FC Despite Rumours?
Moroka Swallows FC head coach Dylan Kerr's job was in jeopardy after the Soweto club was reportedly looking for a new head coach after the club fought for survival to retain their top flight status under Kerr's management.
But the club's poor performances which led them to the relegation/promotion playoffs which they won to retain their top flight status, was not entirely Kerr's fault as the players underperformed when Brandon Truter was still in charge which cost him his job with Swallows.
Dylan Kerr is a specialist when it comes to saving clubs from the chop as he helped Black Leopards, Baroka and Marumo Gallants survive the chop. Despite helping Swallows to retain their spot in the DStv Premiership, reports indicated that Swallows is looking for a new head coach.
Two former Kaizer Chiefs coaches Gavin Hunt and Ernst Middendorp has been linked to the Swallows job. Pitso Mosimane's former assistant at Al Ahly Cavin Johnson is another coach linked to the Swallows coaching job.
Swallows chairman spoke to Dylan Kerr last week, and by what the chairman said, it appears that Kerr's job with the club is secured as he's part of the club's plans for the upcoming campaign.
“The Chairman spoke to me last week and said, ‘look, forget all the rumours about Gavin Hunt, Ernst Middendorp and Cavin Johnson [coming to Swallows]. You are going to be the coach here next season," Kerr said.
