Kaizer Chiefs latest: Newly-signed Vilakazi WILL get game time, says coach

Mfundo Vilakazi, the newly-signed Kaizer Chiefs sensation, WILL DEFINITELY receive some playing time in the second part of the season.

The pressure to play Vilakazi is immense, according to Amakhosi's DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) coach Vela Khumalo.

After weeks of speculation over his future, the 15-year-old left-footer signed with Chiefs on 14 January.

Many football fans were captivated by Vilakazi's electrifying displays for Doornkop Students at the recently completed Philly's Games.

Vilakazi will, as predicted, be given the opportunity to continue his development with the Chiefs DDC team in order to prepare him for the first team.

While Vilakazi's talent and potential as a future star cannot be questioned, Khumalo admitted that the former Doornkop Students superstar must be managed properly.

"In this round, some players will be granted an opportunity to compete in the Diski Challenge. "One of those players is Mfundo (Vilakazi)," Khumalo told SunSport.

"It appears that social media users are all over us." They want to see him play, but we need to keep him under control. He has a bright future ahead of him. We'll give him a few minutes."

Since joining Chiefs, Vilakazi has yet to make Khumalo's matchday squads, although he could be featured when the Soweto giants meet Chippa United on January 23.
