Following the wash out that has been done by Soweto giants, it put a number of stars back in the market and as free agent. The release of players saw stars like Ntsikelelo Nyauza and Gabadinho Mhango just to name a few part ways with the club.
Another recent player to depart is their Midfielder Thabang Monare who has been impressive towards the conclusion of the previous season, he was in a form that even earned him a call up in the Bafana Bafana squad.

However it appears that according to IDiskiTimes, Sekhukhune United will capitalize on Monare's departure from Orlando Pirates as they look to rope him in while still negotiating a deal with another former Orlando Pirates midfielder Ben Motshwari.
Sekhune united will face competition from SuperSport United to tge signature of Thabang Monare as they have also shown interest in him ahead of the upcoming 2022/23 Premier Soccer League season.
