Amakhosi asked PSL to postpone their 4 matches due to 31 members hits by covid-19. Read more

Bad news at Naturena, Kaizer-Chiefs requested Premier Soccer League (PSL) to postpone their four games in December due to an outbreak of covid-19 cases among players and staff.

Amakhosi were expected to go head-on head with Cape Town City today at First National Bank (FNB) Stadium {soccer city}. Kaizer-Chiefs was going to meet Cape Town City for the third time in this year of 2021. On 06 January 2021 Kaizer-Chiefs managed to take Cape Town City down with 2 goals and one from City. The second time on 21 April 2021 Kaizer-Chiefs lost, they managed to score one goal and City scored two goals.

Seems like the sun is hidden by clouds at Naturena, while supporters were starting to enjoy their team winning games, covid-19 destroy all that happiness by a second. The past few games of Kaizer-Chiefs were very interesting, in their previous 5 matches, they managed to win three, drew one, and lost one.

Kaizer-Chiefs announced early on Friday morning that 31 members of them tested positive of covid-19 at the club. Amakhosi said they consequently do not have enough numbers to field a team, they regarded that as a force majeure situation. Amakhosi believes that after four postponed matches they will be ready to come back to the field, at the moment they want to put their members in isolation.

This disappointed many supporters as they were looking forward to today's game. But because of the situation, supporters understand and they wished their players a speedy recovery from covid-19. Is not yet confirmed if Kaizer-Chiefs members are attacked by a new variant of Omicron. More tests are still going to be done.

On the other side, Supporters of other teams think like Kaizer-Chiefs are scared to face Cape Town City without their key players. They believe chiefs have more players to take over but because some of the key players won't be at the game, does why they requested their matches to be postponed.
