Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs are the most talked about clubs during the January transfer window. As they've shown that they're eager to sign new players since they need more help on certain departments in their squads. This is something that most technical teams look forward to each year as it gives the club depth to battle in different types competitions. Now, both Chiefs and Sundowns have their eyes on the the SuperSport United midfielder Sipho Mbule following a great run in the DStv Premiership. He's regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), hence he's been headhunted by massive teams. As they feel that he might bring his rare talents in their camps. Also, the Bafana Bafana star is still hungry to win trophies and feels that being part of the likes of Downs and even Amakhosi might present him with that rare opportunity.
Hence, the discussions have been happening between SuperSport and the teams that are interested in signing Mbule. According to the reports, it is believed that the Brazilians are the only club that have tabled a lucrative offer for Mbule. As his agent has stated that Chiefs have failed to meet the requirements which might be regarded as shocking since Mbule has been heavily linked to Naturena. By the looks of things Sundowns might pull another upset and end Amakhosi's dreams of signing the midfield maestro. According to Mbule's representative Mike Makaab, there was talks between Matsatsantsa and Amakhosi, however, they didn't provide an offer for the services of the Bafana Bafana player. “The only club that made an offer for Sipho Mbule is Mamelodi Sundowns. There was a lot of discussions with Chiefs but Sundowns are the only club that made an offer,” said Makaab speaking to Gagasi FM.
Unfortunately for Chiefs fans, Makaab stated that Mbule is still a SuperSport United player and he's not leaving the Tshwane giants for now. "Whatever I am going to say, I have said it a month ago and weeks ago that chances of Mbule leaving in this transfer window are slim,” said Makaab speaking to Gagasi FM.
