Second tier league's all over the league are often considered as one the toughest in terms of competition.
That is the case with the GladAfrica Championship. When one can thrive in that league, they are capable of making it in the top tier.
The 2020/21 season has seen the birth of an Unheralded Zimbabwean midfielder Temptation Chiwunga.
So prolific in front of goal has been Chiwunga that he is already the red hot favourite to clinch the golden boot award. He has been sharp in front of goal despite the fact that he plays for a team not considered among the giants.
Chiwunga plays for lowly JDR Stars. But his star dust quality has been sublime.
He has already banged in six goals from midfield and he is just two goals behind the leading scorer, Moeketsi Sekola of Jomo Cosmos.
In an interview with the Sowetan, he said his focus is not on achieving things as an individual but rather as a team.
"I like scoring goals and I am not a striker so the pressure definitely isn't on me. Of goals keep coming then I will be happy but if they don't, that won't be a big deal. What is more important here is the team and not individual achievements," he said.
His goals have helped JDR stars in their quest for promotion. They are currently on third position with 23 points and just two points behind leaders Richards Bay.
