Chiefs and Pirates in race to reportedly sign R3.1-million deadly attacker

Both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are racing to acquire new players in order to catch up to Mamelodi Sundowns, which has been the only team in South Africa to win a trophy this season.

All the best players in South Africa and abroad are regularly signed by Mamelodi Sundowns, who put forth strong offers to persuade the players and their agents to accept their terms.

Orlando Pirates won the MTN8 competition last season, whereas Kaizer Chiefs haven't won a title in seven years. The PSL's Kaizer Chiefs have won almost 50 titles since the club's inception, making them one of the league's finest.

They are rebuilding their brand in order to win trophies again by bringing in younger players to reshape their roster and lower the average age of their team members.

Many players in the PSL have been linked to Kaizer Chiefs, but a new one has recently emerged. Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, an attacking midfielder for Marumo Gallants, is allegedly a target for the club.

The R3.2 million rated player (transfermarkt market value) who scored seven goals for Gallants in the DStv Premiership this season has now been linked to Orlando Pirates.

After reports that Orlando Pirates are also interested, the player could command a higher fee if Gallants decide to put him up for sale at the end of this season.

The Soweto giants would provide an interesting learning opportunity for a young player, but playing time is seldom guaranteed even at the most prestigious clubs.
