Earlier on Thursday, the Al Ahly head coach and former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Mr Pitso Mosimane had an online press conference with the South African Football Journalists Association (SAFJA). Most of what was discussed on the press meeting was in relation between Gaston Srino and the two championship clubs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly. Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that Srino wants to join him in the Egyptian Premier League Based with Al Ahly.
There has been numerous rumours in relation between Srino and Al Ahly, this came to an even brighter light when Pitso Mosimane resigned from Mamelodi Sundowns for Al Ahly. Srino has also confirmed to to Soccer Laduma's Siya crew that he wants to leave Sundowns for the Egyptian Champions, however he indicated that it is up to Mamelodi Sundowns to make a decision about him joining Al Ahly.
Gaston Srino penned a new five year deal with Masandawana, this means should any club want him, they have to buy him out from his biding contract with Mamelodi Sundowns, and the good news on this regard is that Al Ahly is more than prepared to do so. There has been indications that the Egyptian Champions are set to Improve their initial bid of R16 million offer, and now they are in an attempt to increase their demands to a further R50 million.
This is indeed an interesting and tempting offer that has been tabled by Al Ahly as this amount is now more than what they have opted for. In the other hand, the Premier Soccer League's transfer window closed on Monday the 30th of November, and then in Egypt their transfer window is set to close this coming Sunday on the 6th of December, Al Ahly has now a period of about three days in order to close the deal with Masandawana.
When speaking to SAFJA Mosimane stated that "All of you guys know that Al Ahly has been asking about Srino while I was still at Mamelodi Sundowns, it's a fact. It's just a perception that I am the one who wants Srino at Al Ahly because I am in the hot seat now." It makes a balanced sense that Mosimane is the suspect for Srino to wish to leave Mamelodi Sundowns for Al Ahly since he has worked with the Uruguayan and that now he is the coach of the team that actually wants him.
When he was still a Sundowns coach, Mosimane is the one who convinced Srino not to leave, he should remain with the club and help them to win their second CAF Champions League star. Mosimane also added that Al Ahly wants Srino and they have communicated to Sundowns about it, he didn't want to reveal many things to SAFJA, but did however that Srino wants to leave Sundowns and then comes to play for Al Ahly.
