Orlando Pirates striker receives praise from former bucs captain

Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa has rewarded the club for believing him and Bucs legend, Benedict Vilakazi is of the opinion that more goals are on the horizon.

Mabasa has struggled with game-time at the Buccaneers due to injuries and despite that has always shown signs of being a deadly striker whenever is given an opportunity.

The attacker got on the scoresheet in his last two appearances against Swallows FC and Chippa United which has given the coaching staff something to be proud of and build on, as they look to refresh the team.

It good for the boy and for the team. Every striker needs goals and with him scoring, it helps him to believe in his ability, so it is good to see Mabasa doing well for the club," Vilakazi tells the Siya crew.

I'm a Pirate fan, but Mabasa's presence won't make any difference against Sundowns, Sundowns defenders are not fast asleep, where they gonna give a chance to a striker who is good or scores in tap ins or headers from the crosses.

I'm not saying it's wrong to score based on that, what I'm highlighting is the fact that as Orlando pirates team, we don't have good strikers, like the late (Lesley Manyathela) Dennis Lota, Kermit Erasmus, Bennie McCarthy, Jerry Skhosana and Justin Shonga.

I really don't believe in the current strikers we ve' got at the Moment, your Mhango, Mabasa and Lepasa are not good enough for big games like this one against Sundowns, it's my opinion.

Vilakazi is hyping this boy for nothing,if he can score 10 plus goals this season then we can start to notice him and if he scores today it will be a bonus. Stop putting pressure on these boy's heard he even got a bafana call up really,by scoring 2 goals come on guy's.

I always wondering why Josef Zinnbauer put him on the bench but tomorrow wll see different as bucs fan I trst this boi in believe to him. Kaizer Chiefs is busy with Nurkovic while Victor Letsoalo is available. i like him as a sub ,he knows how to read the game before.
