Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rhulani Mokwena has shed some light on Striker Mauricio Affonso who is yet to be seen on the pitch for the Brazilians this season.
The 29 years old Uruguay Striker has been out of action for about 12 months as he last played on 1 February 2019 in a CAF Champions League match against Wydad Casablanca.
"He’s got – I wouldn’t say chronic‚ because I think chronic could be a bit more severe from a medical perspective – but he’s got a few muscle-related issues‚” Mokwena said ahead of Sundowns’ 2020-21 Champions League Group B opener against Sudan’s Al-Hilal at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.
Sundowns however don't have a problem upfront as they have Peter Shalulile and Kermit Erasmus who are banging in the goals for the Brazilians this season.
