Kaizer Chiefs would be a very good team and would compete for titles without Stuart Baxter's leadership.
Kaizer Chiefs came close to winning the title with Middendorp, but they blew it in their encounter against Baroka FC when Kambala's goal clinched a draw. Sundowns were crowned league champions by winning and accruing more points than Kaizer Chiefs. Kaizer Chiefs were not playing beautiful football; instead, they were playing airplane football, which helped them win games. Samir Nurkovic was a goal machine who wouldn't stop scoring. After Middendorp was sacked, Gavin Hunt was then brought in to replace him.
Gavin Hunt is a highly emotional coach, which may have rubbed the players the wrong way; he didn't perform well in the league, but he excelled in the Champions League, guiding us to the final. He assisted Kaizer Chiefs in making their own personal history and was not even complimented for it; instead, he was fired before the team could even reach the final. I believe it is also why we did not win the Champions League; they should have allowed him to finish what he started.
Middendorp came close to winning the league, and Hunt came close to winning the Champions League. But it appears that Baxter will not win anything, or even try to win anything because he is obstinate and selects his teams based on favoritism.
The Kaizer Chiefs would be a better team without him because, first and foremost, he does not play beautiful football and is a defensive-minded coach. Smaller teams beat us, and even Mamkhize's Royal-AM managed to defeat us. He uses older players, whereas we use younger, more energetic, and better players. He continues to use the same lineup, despite the fact that the players are underperforming. Blom is used as a right-back, and Njabulo Ngcobo is used as a defensive midfielder.
He has better players than Middendorp and Hunt, and he is spoiled for choice, but he just can't make the right decisions, and he continues to play defensive football.
