Mamelodi Sundowns Co-head coach Manqoba Mngqithi spoke in a post match interview for the game Sundowns won by beating Golden Arrows by 1 goal to nil a goal scored by Gaston Sirino in a DStv Premiership match.
"We have always known it is not going to be an easy one, we are playing against a team that has not played in a very long time and after our trip to DRC we knew we were coming against a team that will be fresher.
"Maybe with the better conditions of the pitch we could have played better because now it became difficult for us to keep the ball more to make it difficult for them to really show their freshness.
"But because the ball was bubbling all over and with too many transitions Golden Arrows becomes very dangerous but that is what we expected to be honest.
"Credit should be given to our boys I think they worked very hard, there were some scary moments which I believed on the day we were a little bit lucky in some instances but credit must also be given to the boys.
"I think first half we also had a very good shout for a penalty which we did not get and for the penalty that they got I am not too sure but referees are also human beings they can make mistakes and at this stage I am talking I have not seen the footage maybe it was a proper penalty.
"The truth of the matter is we worked very hard we wanted the three points we knew it was not going to be easy and we were not as fresh for a team that only arrived on Monday from Congo.
"The boys worked very hard Mudau was outstanding I was not surprised when he became man of the match.
"Andile also did very well, Domingo also played very well, we had a lot of very good performers on the day and one appreciates the three points against this team and we are sure they are going to help us in stopping all these other guys that are coming.
"They cannot perform like this against us only so I am hoping they will perform against all the other teams the way they perform because they were on fire today.
