Kaizer Chiefs development prodigy Happy Mashiani is set to be competing for a starting berth at Kaizer Chiefs. Sifiso Hlanti is not the only competition that Mashiani is facing for the left back place. Kaizer Chiefs signed another left back in Sibusiso Mabiliso who joined Kaizer Chiefs from Amazulu. The 22 year old defender was one of the standard out performers for Amazulu last season.
Mabiliso's hard work earned him a national team call up as he was handed a national team debut June 10th when South Africa took on Uganda in an international friendly at the FNB Stadium. Mabiliso was part of the Olympic games team which represented South at the Olympic games in Tokyo.
Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has acknowledged the fact that both Mabiliso and Mashiani are making it difficult for Hlanti. It appears like Sifiso Hlanti's days are numbered at left back. With Stuart Baxter switching to a back three in a game against Mamelodi Sundowns and heavily relying on his wing backs it can be said that Hlanti will not be able to compete with the two young players who are eager to play.
