When Orlando Pirates were drawn against Uthongathi FC in the Nedbank Cup, it was expected to be a routine and straight forward victory for the Buccaneers, but the performance from Pirates against the low placed Uthongathi was not what was expected as they scrapped through with a 1-0 victory over the impressive Uthongathi fc, and the performance left many Buccaneers questioning the coach as well as the players for a lacklustre performance.
Pirates needed a second half Gabadinho Mhango goal to send them through to the next round of the Nedbank Cup, but questions will be asked about the performance of the team, credit should also be given to Uthongathi fc for the way they neutralised the Buccaneers as they didn't give them too much space and freedom which made players like Thembinkosi Lorch to struggle in this game.
Even when Mhango scored the was not much celebration as they looked frustrated and disappointed with their individual performances, Pirates will be glad they managed to avoid being eliminated by the so called small team again, these is what some Buccaneers had to say about the teams performance.
