" It may happen " - Benni McCarthy breaks his silence about coaching Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates interim co-coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Mandla have been under immense pressure lately after losing the CAF Confederation Cup to RS Berkane. This was regarded as their last hope to fight for their coaching position at Mayfair as there's numerous other mentors that are after the hotseat at the helm. Even their former player Benni McCarthy hasn't been shy about moving to the Buccaneers as their new head coach. As he understands the Soweto giants, and knows what's expected from players and technical team. By the looks of things he's up for a challenge since he's not tied up any team at the moment.

After he was let go by AmaZulu FC a few months ago, McCarthy has spent some quality time with his family and also, working in his coaching qualifications. McCarthy has been following closely everything that's happening at Pirates, especially with Ncikazi and Davids being scrutinised by the supporters as they want them out of the club. It's still a mistery if the Buccaneers will let go of the duo or not. However, McCarthy is ready to take over at Mayfair whenever he's needed. “Maybe one day [I’ll coach Pirates], I’ll be back home where I belong. One day, I’ll be home,” McCarthy stated on Goal.

According to reports, Bucs has a list of coaches that they would love to at least lead or provide assistance to Davids and Ncikazi moving forward. The former Cape Town City FC mentor wouldn't mind coaching Pirates, but it's all up to the club's management. “The decisions aren’t up to me, it’s the Pirates board that has to make those decisions. One of these days it may happen,” McCarthy explained.
