The murder trial of the former Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa resumed once again today. People had higher expectations and hoped the proceedings will take off where they left off last week.
Unfortunately, this was not the case as the advocate representing or from the NPA, advocate Baloyi, broke some sad news, sad to those who were hoping that the justice will finally prevail. Advocate Baloyi stood up and explained how they ended up having 2 dockets rather than one.
He said the second docket is available because of a junior advocate who decided to compile it after the first one which was written by a more experienced detective, detective Ndlovu and Mosia, was already completed. Meaning, the findings of the second docket should not be taken into consideration as it is not on merit.
What does this mean? This clearly state's that all the names that were read out by advocate Mshololo that included an ex girlfriend of the deceased goalkeeper, Kelly Khumalo and her sister Zandile Khumalo, are not on the list of the accused people and they will not be charged with murder whatsoever.
These news were not welcomed by many Sputh Africans and some of them were saying our justice system is weak and there's no hope on it.
Do you think justice will ever be served and do you think the right people will ever be arrested and prosecuted? Is it fair to continue blaming Kelly Kumalo even though she has not been found guilty of anything? Please have your say in the comment section below.
