PSL midfielder extends his contract at Chloorkop

The Chloorkop side Mamelodi Sundowns have finally tied down their midfielder Rivaldo Coetzee on a long-term contract.

During the pre-season, there were negotiations regarding the midfielder's future at the club having reached his final year at Sundowns since joining in 2015 four years ago from Ajax Cape Town, where he had a long term injury that threatened his football career but the Brazilians managed to help and get back to full fitness and injury-free.

The 24-year old came to the club as a defender but however former Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane managed to convert him as Defensive Midfielder.

His new signed contract will see him be part of the club until 2026. In 2021/2022 Dstv Premiership has manage to be rewarded with three man of the match performance in the past four games.

Riva’ featured in 31 matches from all competitions on the domestic front as well as Downs’ CAF commitments, receiving genuine praise for how he has made a seamless transition from being a centre back to playing as a defensive midfielder.

So far, he has also played every minute of every Sundowns match during the current campaign either partnering with Mothobi Mvala or Andile Jali.

Sundowns will look to continue their winning streak when they face the confident side Orlando Pirates who out for revenge after Downs defeated them in three consecutive games last season with high scores.
