Pirates striker Peprah’s career, transfer deal, and age


Orlando Pirates made sure that they bolster their strikers’ department, following their challenges of scoring goals in the previous season. Let’s get to know the new man upfront at Pirates who will be trusted with the difficult task of putting the ball behind the net. If you’re a Pirates fan, then you must be excited about the new faces at Mayfair that will be working hard to bring back the happy days within the club.

Kwame Peprah was unveiled at the Buccaneers on the 26th of August 2021 as their new addition to the attack. This was during the July-August transfer window and many fans saw him as a promising player that will cause problems for defenders in the DStv Premiership. Peprah is a Ghanaian professional footballer that was born on the 16th of December 2000 and in 2021 he’s 21-years-old. At the moment, he’s playing for the South African Premier Division side Orlando Pirates, after a successful stint back home in Ghana. Peprah found his breakthrough season – 2020/21 in the Ghana Premier League which has led him to the Soweto giants. 

However, Peprah had outstanding performances for the Kumasi-based club, King Faisal, as he scored eight goals around February this year. He was regarded as one of their key players, as he won numerous Man of the Match awards as showed his brilliance on the field. Within the Ghanaian Premier League, he has scored 14 goals in 45 appearances. Only had one cap under his name, as he played 86 minutes against Uzbekistan an international friendly match that Ghana lost by 2-1 back in March this year. The centre-forward deal at Pirates ends on the 30th of June 2024. It is believed that it cost Pirates R2.1 million to get his services. Peprah made his debut for the Sea Robbers as he came in as a substitute for Ghabadihno Mhango and managed to get four minutes. As Pirates defeated the Chilli Boys by 3-1 and have been part of the matchday squad against Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City.
