What is Mbulelo Mabizela currently doing? Find out

Every year in the PSL there are many young prospects that emerge who are tipped to become the next superstar.

Some of these youngsters do not live up to that hype mostly because of bad career decisions.

In South African football former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain Mbulelo 'OJ' Mabizela will always be remembered as one of the most versatile defenders to ever grace the PSL. During his career pinnacles he even had the privilege of plying his trade in the lucrative leagues in England and in Europe.

However, his football spells abroad were short-lived as a result of his bad boy behaviour. In 2006 Mbulelo Mabizela tried to resurrect his football career with Mamelodi Sundowns but however his contract was later terminated following disciplinary problems.

Following his exit he would then go to play for Platinum Stars, Chippa United, Mpumalanga Black Aces, AmaZulu FC and Royal Eagles before he decided to announce his retirement from football in 2015. Post his retirement from football Mbulelo Mabizela then worked as an HIV/AIDS counsellor and as well as a youth coach at Whizzkids Academy in Edendale, Pietermaritzburg.

Fast forward to 2022 according to emerging reports the former Bafana Bafana captain is currently training with an Ambitious club Armour Bearer FC. Furthermore it is reported that the one time troubled star is more likely to make a return to top flight football at the age of 41 years old as his current team is preparing to buy a PSL status next season.

In addition it has also been reported that the Rustenburg based outfit has also recruited two other PSL veterans Bongani Ndulula and former Kazier Chiefs striker Yusuf Bunting. Furthermore it is also reported that George Lebese who is currently a free agent is also likely to join them with the aim of resurrecting his career.
