Meet Peseiro Who vows to rule Africa with Nigeria

Jose Peseiro, the new manager of the Nigerian Super Eagles, has indicated his instant eagerness to work with the team.

For Nigeria's upcoming friendlies against Ecuador and Mexico, new head coach Peseiro is in the United States for the first time since his appointment earlier this month.

In a direct proclamation of his immediate goal, the former Venezuela national team coach declared he will seek to make Nigeria African champions for the fourth time.

Nigeria is projected to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D'Ivoire, although they must first face Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, and Mauritius in a qualifying round.

When Peseiro tweeted about his desire to learn about and appreciate Nigeria's roots, he said he would be inspired by it.

He went on to say that he takes his role as head coach of Nigeria's senior national team extremely seriously and that it fills him with immense pride and delight.

“Pride! With great pride and delight, I'm the head coach for one of the world's best football nations.

The first step in leading the Super Eagles is to have a deep understanding of and appreciation for the past.

'More than 200 million Nigerians, of all states and ethnicities, have a same desire: success.

"We'll work hard and with great ambition to make Nigeria the "four-time African champions" we've always wanted to be!"

In the United States, Peseiro will get a chance to see a group of Super Eagles players before deciding on a final 25-man roster for the qualifying games.
