Ex Pirates Duo Set To Venture Into The World Of Podcasting

Football is one of the biggest industries in the country and has millions of fans. South Africa is described as a football nation as a result of this. We have seen a change in terms of how players can make money and expand outside of the field. The internet has made things easier as many have explored the use of social media and digital media as an alternative source of income.

This duo played for the Bucaneers in the 2010s and enjoyed a good time with the club. They have since mantained a relationship even though they moved to different directions. Mpho Makola left Orlando Pirates in 2019 for Cape Town City. Romeo Erasmus left the Bucaneers for overseas and eventually returned to Cape Town City. He enjoyed spells in countries like France and Portugal. He is currently on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mpho Makola took to social media to share a huge announcement to the fans. The star shared that he is set to co-host a podcast alongside Romeo Erasmus. Their platform is a first of its kind in the growing podcast space in the country. They will speak about football and their experience in the sport as they have both been at it for more than a decade.

The name of the podcast is 'Plugged' and they will also interview people in the entertainment space, business and influential figures. They will also chop it up around other issues that affect everyday people like finances. This is something that footballers have struggled with over the years and it is amazing to see this happening.

This is set to a good platform as they are already friends and the chemistry between them will most definitely be the highlight. We definitely need to see more people in the football space venture into podcast as opposed to looking at traditional media for limited opportunities.
