Official: Former Orlando Pirates Midfielder Preparing For Life After Football.

It is now official that Mayambela is preparing for his post-football life.

As his playing career draws to a conclusion, former Orlando Pirates midfielder Mark Mayambela is preparing for life beyond football by obtaining his coaching certification.

After parting ties with Cape Umoya United at the end of the previous season, Mayambela is currently without a team to call his own.

Prof, as Mayambela is affectionately called, trained with Swallows FC at the start of the season, but the two sides were unable to come to terms on a long-term contract.

The 34-year-old has returned to his hometown of Cape Town, where he is currently concentrating on obtaining his coaching certification.

"I have returned to my hometown of Cape Town and have begun planning for life beyond football," Mayambela says the source.

"I am currently occupied with completing my coaching certifications. In addition to completing my Caf C License, I am presently pursuing my EUFA B License as well as various coaching short courses.

"I have not yet decided whether I will continue to play football or not; for the time being, I am concentrating on obtaining my coaching qualifications.

"I'm learning a lot and have begun to gain a greater understanding of the game than I did previously.

""I am currently loving what I am doing, and that is where my attention is currently focused," he continued.

Mayambela has also played for Bloemfontein Celtic and Chippa United during his long and illustrious footballing career.
