Jabulani Mendu Believes The Playing Field Is Level Despite Amakhosi’s Form

The two PSL monsters will secure horns Tshwane in what might be a troublesome match to anticipate as both have dropped focuses in their latest experiences.

While Chiefs' homegrown structure has been dependent upon analysis, Sundowns have additionally seen a turn in fortunes lately, getting taken out of the Nedbank Cup by Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and attracting 0-0 away to high-flying AmaZulu.

That this will be The Brazilians' eighth match in under about a month, in the midst of what has been a difficult installations plan across three distinct rivalries in April, Mendu accepts this offers the Soweto outfit a hint of something better over the horizon in front of Sunday's fight.

"Ja, the expectation is there. I mean look, Chiefs versus Sundowns is pretty much like Chiefs versus Pirates – structure doesn't mean anything," Mendu tells

"Indeed, Chiefs lost [against Cape Town City] however they were not so terrible. It's simply that they didn't score [enough objectives to draw or win]. Dislike they didn't do anything, or they didn't attempt.

"That is to say, you could see the players, their craving, their battling soul, their will to need to win... It was there. Now, for Sundowns playing such countless games, it's causing significant damage now and it's getting to the players now.

"Yet, the nature of Sundowns will consistently get them through. It will be an interesting game, particularly for Chiefs, not Sundowns. Nightfalls will direct the game. Be that as it may, for Chiefs, the expectation is still there. A best eight completion is still there. The focuses to get are still there."
