The Confederation of African Football (CAF) delivered good news for Kaizer Chiefs. In a latest statement released by CAF, they have told Wydad Athletic Club that are giving them until Sunday midnight to find a neutral venue for their CAF Champions League match against Cheifs.
CAF further sent a stern warning to Wydad and said that if they fail to do so, Chiefs will be given a 2-0 win. This drama comes after CAF had a meeting with the South African Football Association (SAFA), Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates on Friday. Chiefs and Sundowns were denied entry in Morocco and Algeria respectively as they were prepared to play the CAF Champions League matches.
On Friday during the meeting, SAFA told CAF that the South African teams will not play in neutral venues. CAF has also told Sundowns opponents, CR Belouizdad that they are giving them a deadline - which is tomorrow midnight to find a venue for their games against Sundowns.
