Katsande, a legend of the Kaizer Chiefs, helped Lekgwathi revive his business.
Former Kaizer Chiefs player Williard Katsande was instrumental in ensuring Lucky Lekgwathi's re-opening of the Grootman restaurant.
BROTHER LOVE: THE LEGEND OF THE KAIZER CHIEFS ASSISTS IN THE REOPENING OF LEKGWATHI'S RESTAURANT
The Orlando Pirates legend's restaurant, Grootman, was destroyed during the Jacob Zuma loot riots that began in KwaZulu Natal and then spread to Gauteng, as The South African reported last year.
After intense looting attacks by locals, Lekgwathi's Grootman restaurant in Pretoria was completely destroyed.
After a protracted battle, Katsande of the Kaizer Chiefs emerged as an angel to save Lekgwathi's business and financial destiny.
"I'm humbled and grateful because, at long last, we were able to open or reopen Grootman, and the launch went extremely well," Lekgwathi told iDiski Times.
"We found a location where we could start the shop," he explained. "I remember I was busy with MTN 8 at the time."
"My business partner spoke with him [Katsande] since he has a construction company and said he could assist us in setting up the shop, and the shop looks great."
He did a fantastic job, you know, for a reasonable price, and not to mention one of my friends, Pule, who came in to finish the touch-ups because I believe he (Katsande) was busy at the time.
A FORMER PIRATES STAR HAS LANDED A NEW JOB
Meanwhile, Benson Mhlongo, a former teammate of Lekgwathi's, will return to coaching, this time for lower-division club TS Sporting.
Mhlongo was most recently an assistant coach for Black Leopards, and TS Sporting believed that his knowledge of the game would aid them in their drive for PSL promotion. The complete storey may be found here.
