Sh0ck move for Yeye Letsholonyane

One sports brand is famous for using the punchline - To do is to dare!

Football has its ups and downs

Just as he is about to reach the twilight of his career, Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane could leave South Africa for the first time in his career.

Shocking but true. The ageless Yeye is being taunted with a move to cash rich TP Mazembe in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

TP Mazembe are one of the heavy weights of African football and they are willing to add Yeye - who played at the 2010 FIFA World Cup - into their team.

The 36 year old talented midfielder was recently released by TS Galaxy after just one season and age is definitely on his side.

He had been with Highlands Park and was one the players who were left out in the cold after the club disbanded.

His salary demands have scared off a lot of local teams and the DRC option is proving to be his biggest bet.

Football publication Phakaaathi learnt that Yeye is on the wanted list of Democratic Republic of Congo giants, TP Mazembe

They are said to have spoken to Letsholonyane’s agent to find out if he would be interested. Mazembe are one of the richest clubs on the continent, but he still has family and business interests outside of football.

If the move does pull through, Yeye would have broken his own record of finally playing abroad.
