There has always been a big debate about who changed the narrative and took it to another level in SA football. Who deserves to be honored for having a great impact on the game. Who deserves a statue. Teko believes he has a big say when it comes to who took the narrative to another level.
Certain things were not fashionable back then but now they are. The was a certain culture that was not fashionable but it now because of him.
He always wanted to do better than the 2 legends.
He can have a chart with either of the 2,legends without them questioning him, who he is, that how much respect they have for each other.
Teko said a lot of people they turn to celebrate mediocrity because a player had one or two good season in the PSL then they believe he is great.
At times people wait for someone to pass away before they say how good he was and honor his contribution.
He also revealed that when he retired together with former Chiefs player Siyabonnga Bhele Nomvethe.
The former Chiefs player Bhele Nomvethe played less games in PSL. Teko played more but they gave Nomvethe the award for his contribution in the PSL.
Teko said he won everything that a player can think of individually in his generation, but he was matured about the whole thing as he believes. He won't get the respect he deserves while he is still alive. He even won awards competing with other sports personality outside football.
When he started he wanted to change the narrative that footballers are also smart they don't just good at kicking the ball. They can also do more.
