Orlando Pirates fans will never forget the 26th of October 2014 when arguably one of the greatest goalkeepers of the club Senzo Meyiwa was shot dead by robbers at his apartment.

His death was mourned by many football fanatics around the country and his funeral was broadcasted live for all South Africans to witness as his career was cut short when it was at its peak.

Before he was gunned down the shot-stopper was both the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain and his presence was certainly felt behind the goals.

However the big question is though: Have Orlando Pirates found a suitable replacement for him after he passed on? Well it's no doubt that the Buccaneers have had talanted goalkeepers in the past that have stepped up to the occasion after Senzo passed on.

The likes of Wayne Sandilands have certainly come to the party. He has produced stellar performances and replicated what Senzo Meyiwa did in the confederations cup against TP Mazembe by saving to penalty kicks during the match.

However the introduction of Richard Ofori to the squad has led to Wayne Sandilands to lose his spot in the starting lineup and he was fortunate to have found Thulani Hlatshwayo at the back who has helped them clinch the MTN 8 silverware.
