Orlando Pirates teammates Thabang Monare and Siphesihle Ndlovu on Tuesday were involved in a nasty mid-air head collision during the Orlando Pirates 2-0 PSL victory against Cape Town City at Orlando stadium.
The two midfielders found themselves involved in a sickening collision in the 24th minute while competing for the ball and it had Orlando Pirates fearing for the effects of concussion.
The game was suspended for a long period as both the players underwent on-field concussion tests while Ndlovu was was given treatment after he received a bad gash on the head. The team's head coach Josef Zinnbauer gave an update during his post-match interview on Monare who had been forced off immediately after the collision.
"He feels in the moment fine, I'm happy it's not more than what you see from the outside. It was very crazy accident and I'm happy both players [are fine]. Ndlovu had a cut, Monare had nothing. I hope the night is good and he feels well in the morning". Orlando Pirates head coach told SuperSport TV, right after the game took place.
Later Monare also confirmed that he was doing well as he provided an update from his Twitter account while he thanked his fans for their messages of support.
